How to play Rule34dle

Rule34dle is a higher or lower quiz: you never type a name. You only choose which of two cards has more posts (or favourites, on AniList). Daily mode is the Wordle-shaped ten-round board; endless is a streak until you miss.

A round

  1. Left card: name, optional image, and a visible count.
  2. Right card: name (and image if we have one) with the count replaced by “?”.
  3. Click the card you think has more. The hidden number then counts up.
  4. Green means you were right. Red means the other card was higher. Equal counts count as a miss, so do not assume a tie is safe.

What the count is

Switch the source in the game panel. AniList measures favourites. Safebooru and Rule34 measure tagged posts. Rule34 rounds only show names and numbers, not artwork. Franchise tags (the whole series) can be included or left out when that source has them — they usually dwarf individual characters.

Difficulty and score

Difficulty limits how far apart two counts can be when a pair is built. Tighter bands are harder and score higher. Time-to-answer, current streak, and how close the two numbers were also feed the round score. Stats are stored in localStorage on this device, not on an account.

Daily boards

Daily mode uses a date key in UTC so everyone on the same source sees the same ten pairs that day. After the last round you get a share line. A new date is a new board.
